Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

• Products & Collections (write_products, read_products): Allows the App to read and modify product details (such as titles, tags, and descriptions) in order to analyze image contexts and automatically write SEO-friendly Alt texts.
• Files & Media (write_files, read_files): Allows the App to fetch product images from your store, optimize their size (image compression), and upload the optimized images back to your store.
• Product Listings (write_product_listings, read_product_listings): Allows the App to read and modify product details published in different channels, ensuring updated image Alt texts and metadata are correctly published.

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you once you have installed the App:

• Merchant Account Information: Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, including your name, email address, store domain, and billing plan. We obtain this directly from your Shopify account Session data.
• Store & Optimization Data: Metadata about the images we optimize (such as original image URLs, processed image URLs, dimensions, original file sizes, optimized file sizes, and processing statuses), as well as your SEO profile preferences (such as preferred keywords, tone of voice, category profiles, and custom instructions).
• No Customer Personal Data Collected: Because our App focuses entirely on image and metadata optimization for your products, we do not collect, store, or log any personally identifiable information (PII) of your end-customers (individual buyers) who visit or purchase from your store.

We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:

• "Cookies" are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.
• "Log files" track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:

• Communicate with you regarding app status, updates, or support inquiries;
• Optimize or improve the App's performance and accuracy;
• Provide you with usage reports, including optimized image statistics and credit usage;
• Process billing and subscription plans through Shopify's billing system.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We only share non-sensitive storefront information (such as product images and product titles) with third-party service providers (sub-processors) to perform image processing and AI alt-text generation services on our behalf. These third parties include:

• Google Gemini API / OpenAI API: Used to analyze image contents and generate high-quality product Alt tags.
• Image Compression Servers: Used to compress and optimize images for faster load speeds.

These third parties are strictly bound to use this information only to provide these services to us, and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose. We never sell, trade, or share any personal information of you or your customers for marketing or advertising purposes.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Behavioural Advertising

As described above, we do not use your Personal Information for targeted advertisements or remarketing campaigns.

Your Rights & GDPR/CCPA Compliance

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to the United States and other processing centers.

Data Retention

When you install the App, we will maintain your Store configurations, SEO profiles, and image optimization records for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information, or when you uninstall the App.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
